چکیده

Bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV) and related human respiratory syncytial virus (HRSV) are major respiratory tract pathogens in calves and infants, respectively. Great aention is now paid to prevention of the disease caused by these agents. Glycoprotein G is the most variable viral protein and antigenic grouping of RSV isolates is based on distinct antigenic reactivity paerns determined with a set of G protein specific mAbs. Genetic variability of the G protein is used during epidemiology and epizootiology studies of HRSV and BRSV diseases, respectively. The constant genetic dri can be observed within G protein sequences. Both cell-mediated and antibodymediated immune responses contribute to efficient protection against RSV infection. The neutralizing antibodies are induced by F and G proteins. The G protein fails to induce cytotoxic lymphocytes response and may causes aberrant Th2 response leading to enhancement of clinical symptoms in subsequently infected vaccines. The G as the most variable viral protein associated with immunopathologic effect is a critical factor in vaccine development.

Genetic and antigenic analysis of the G attachment protein of bovine respiratory syncytial virus strains.

Antigenic and genetic studies of bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV) were made on isolates obtained from three continents over 27 years. Antigenic variation between eight isolates was initially determined using protein G-specific monoclonal antibodies. Four distinct reaction patterns were observed, two of which corresponded to the previously established subgroups A and AB. A third pattern...

Genetic and antigenic variability of human respiratory syncytial virus (groups a and b) isolated over seven consecutive seasons in Argentina (1995 to 2001).

The genetic and antigenic variability of human respiratory syncytial virus (HRSV) strains isolated in Buenos Aires from 1995 to 2001 was evaluated by partial nucleotide sequencing of the G gene and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay analysis with anti-G monoclonal antibodies. Phylogenetic analyses showed that 37 group A strains clustered into five genotypes, whereas 20 group B strains clustered ...

Antigenic and molecular analyses of the variability of bovine respiratory syncytial virus G glycoprotein.

Antigenic variation among eight bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRSV) isolates was determined using monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) specific for the attachment (G) protein. Two major (and one intermediate) subgroups were identified, as well as one strain that did not fit any pattern. The subgroups could also be differentiated on the basis of the Mr of the F protein cleavage product, F2. The nu...

Antigenic heterogeneity of the attachment protein of bovine respiratory syncytial virus.

A panel of 23 monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) specific for the attachment (G) glycoprotein of bovine respiratory syncytial virus (BRS virus), recognizing seven antigenic areas on the G protein, was used to determine the antigenic heterogeneity among 19 BRS viruses isolated over a 20 year period from various parts of the world. The pattern of reactivity of the isolates, as determined by ELISA, iden...

Expression of G1- epitope of bovine ephemeral fever virus in E. coli : A novel candidate to develop ELISA kit

Bovine ephemeral fever is an acute and arthropod-borne viral disease of cattle and water buffalo which occurs seasonally in most of the world tropical and subtropical regions. The epizootic feature of the disease has been reported in Iran with serious economic consequences. The surface glycoprotein G of bovine ephemeral fever virus (BEFV) is composed of 4 antigenic sites (G1-G4) and plays the m...
